My dad is a taxi driver, and my ah ma likes going around collecting cardboard.
Seeing people close to me head out during the haze made this personal. It made me think about neighbours who might need a little more help finding information or collecting masks.
One conversation stayed with me. An 85-year-old uncle told me he had cataracts and could not see clearly. He did not know there was haze. To me, that was a reminder that this is about more than masks. It is also about taking time to explain, listen and connect with older neighbours.
That is the spirit I hope SG As One can carry: a small community effort, with people at its centre.
A little kindness goes a long way, even when we don’t see it. One small act can inspire another. In a world that can feel so troubled, we can still choose to show up for one another. If we don’t step up, who will?
With care,
Adrian
